H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, watched on Monday the opening of the Sheikh Zayed Camel Race Grand Prix Festival at Al Wathba camel racetrack.
The traditional sports event is part of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival 2018.
Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Festival, and Head of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, Sheikh Fahad bin Falah bin Hethleen, Chairman of Camel Club in Saudi Arabia, and a number of Sheikhs, camel owners and breeders from the UAE and GCC countries attended the launch ceremony.
The weeklong festival will see staging of 176 rounds of races.
