HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, and HH General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, today celebrated Manchester City’s winning of the English Premier League (EPL) title. This was the Club’s fourth time claiming the EPL trophy in its history, and the second time since being under Abu Dhabi ownership.
The celebration was attended by HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare.
Also celebrating the win were a number of other Sheikhs and government officials.
The attendees celebrated the historic victory of the ’Blue Moon‘ with a cake shaped like Manchester City’s Al Etihad Stadium and including the English Premier League Cup trophy.
The Manchester City team arrives in the UAE tomorrow, in preparation for their match against Al Ain Football Club (FC) next Thursday, at the Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain. The match is part of Al Ain FC’s celebrations marking the inauguration of their state-of-the-art new stadium. Manchester City will hold their training sessions at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium’s Al Jazira Club tomorrow.
