HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, participated this evening in the Walkathon, held under his patronage, at the Bicycle Racetrack at Al Wathba. Over 300 males and females from different nationalities participated in the event, which involved walking a distance of about 32 km.
HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed expressed his pleasure at participating in such a positive atmosphere with people from different ages and nationalities. He also asserted the importance of sport in general, and walking in particular, due to its health benefits. An additional benefit is that it also enhances a sense of community among the participants.
Spaniard Giro Rodrigues won first place, Mohammed Hamdan Al Jahouri was second and Ali Khalfan Al Jahouri came third. The winners who took from the fourth to twentieth places were also honoured.
