The Arab world should lead the efforts to prepare a young generation who are capable of creating peace and hope for the entire world, said H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
In his statement to mark ''International Youth Day," which will be celebrated around the world on Saturday, Sheikh Mansour stressed that there is a global consensus on the vital role that the youth will play in the future.
"The Arab youth, in particular, have a special role to play in the regional peace-making process," he added.
Sheikh Mansour stated that the energy shown by the youth during the last Arab Youth Forum was a source of optimism for the future of communities in the Arab world.
"The youth comprise most of the populations of Arab countries. This advantage entails an immense potential that should be utilised, to drive development in the Arab world. The youth also need other people who will listen to their opinions and adopt their ideas. On the other hand, the leaders of nations also need to integrate their youth in the decision-making process, to avoid conflicts and achieve peace and development," he added.
Sheikh Mansour indicated that the Arab Youth Centre will serve as enablers for youth-led initiatives, and will support their principles of rejecting conflicts and promoting peace.
The center's initiatives also cover various areas, including Arab youth media, Arab youth forums and Arab youth enterprises.
