01/05/2017

Shamma bint Sohail Faris AlMazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, has launched the new Arab Youth Media Initiative, which aims to train and prepare a generation of young media professionals to disseminate Arab media content worldwide.

The move follows the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

AlMazrui unveiled this in her speech at the 16th Arab Media Forum, with a view to set up an Arab Youth Centre to enable youth to lead in all fields. She noted that the Arab youth bear responsibility to make a better future for the region. "The media industry is witnessing a radical change amid spread of modern media tools including social media networking," she said.

Sheikh Mansour said, "We believe in the Arab youth capacity to make a better future for Arab world. Our confidence in their ability has no limits. The youth are capable of achieving their own vision and strategy. Therefore, we launch this media initiative to be a platform for training a generation of media persons to keep pace with rapid changes in all fields."
